This is a great word, but I never heard of it (I’m a native Portuguese speaker). Many on twitter were saying the same thing (people from both Portugal and Brazil). So, I googled it:
One result: from the page saying that English lacks this word.
Just after I posted this, @arara_ pointed out that it is a typo in the original post:
@luispedrocoelho It’s actually “pesamenteiro”, since it comes from “pêsames”. Pesamenteiro is featured on Google Translator and such.

Esta palavra, quanto muito existe no portugues do brasil.
Em português europeu, para além de não se encontrar em nenhum dicionário de referência, também não faria sentido, uma vez que culturalmente não existe esse hábito de comer nos funerais.
Eu também acho que é Português do Brasil porque eu nunca tinha ouvido até ver esta referência a “uma palavra portuguesa que não existe em inglês”.
